Rebecca Bailey - Short Biography
Rebecca has lived in BC, Alberta, and Ontario - and can't decide which one is her favourite - let's be honest, Canada's pretty great! Rebecca grew up in a Christian home and as a teenager started to really develop a passion for reaching out to her non-Christian friends. When she stumbled across some Pais workers while on a mission trip in England, her heart was captivated with its practical and strategic way of reaching out to youth. In her spare time, Rebecca enjoys discovering more of Vancouver's great sights, loitering around her favourite coffee shop, or jogging in the forest by the beach.
Ministry
Rebecca started as a volunteer on the Pais Project in 2001 as a team member in England. She worked in England for three years, leading a local church youth ministry as well as serving town-wide youth ministries in the local area. She also worked in schools as part of a team.
In 2004, Rebecca returned to Canada to launch Pais in the Greater Vancouver area. Rebecca also worked as a youth pastor in North Vancouver for 3 years, creating a community focused youth ministry.
In her role as the Pais National Director Rebecca also gets the opportunity to travel preaching and teaching and sharing the Pais vision across Canada, the USA, and the UK.
Testimonies
"I have been extremely impressed with Rebecca's energy and ability to bring together young people from all over the world in support of churches in the Lower Mainland. Now she is looking towards a work across Canada and I believe that she will have the same impact there that she has is starting to have in Vancouver. This is largely due to Rebecca's hard work, vision and servant attitude."
- Andy Harrington, Executive Director, Greater Vancouver Youth For Christ
"Rebecca is the National Director for the Pais Project. Rebecca trained [in the UK] and came back to Canada as a "missionary" to launch Pais. Under her leadership, things are really beginning to flourish. Rebecca is an amazing young woman who has just been voted one of the most promising young Canadian Christian leaders under 35 years of age. I have the privilege of mentoring her. Canada needs more visionary young leaders like her."
- Sally Start, National Funding Director, Alpha Canada.
